Turmeric oleoresin

Turmeric oleoresin is the organic extract of turmeric, a ground powder from the root of the Curcuma plant. It is produced by solvent extraction of Turmeric rhizomes botanically known as Curcuma longa. Turmeric Oleoresin consists mainly of curcumin which is obtained from the ground rhizomes of turmeric. It has a varying appearance and colour according to the type of blend selected. The colour varies from orange-yellow to reddish-brown in the different blends. The aroma is typical of turmeric with an underlying nutlike character. It is used in various food formulations as flavouring agent and colouring agent. And it is widely used in beverages and pickle industries. Curcuminoids and turmeric essential oil are both contained in turmeric oleoresin, and both of these fractions have hypoglycemic effects.
